FAQ

What Else Can We Help You With?
What is tirzepatide, and how does it work?

Tirzepatide is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. They help control appetite and food cravings while also optimizing your metabolism and blood sugar levels.

How is oral tirzepatide different from injections?

Oral tirzepatide drops are placed under your tongue, where they dissolve and are absorbed into the bloodstream, eliminating the need for weekly injections.

Is oral tirzepatide as effective as injected tirzepatide?

Injected tirzepatide has been widely studied and is known to be highly effective. Oral tirzepatide is a newer option that can be especially helpful for people who want to avoid injections.

We know that oral tirzepatide has the same active ingredient as injected tirzepatide, so we expect similar efficacy, but oral absorption can vary from person to person. For some women, injectable tirzepatide may offer more effective weight loss. Talk with a Midi clinician to determine which prescription is right for you.

How soon will I start seeing results, such as weight loss?

Everyone is different, so we adjust dosing until you get the desired results. Some patients may notice results within a few weeks, while it may take longer for others. Keep in mind that consistent use, along with a healthy diet and exercise, leads to the best outcomes.

What are the common side effects?

The most frequently reported side effects are gastrointestinal, including nausea, diarrhea, constipation, or reduced appetite.

Your first order includes Ondansetron tablets, a medication that’s used to treat nausea and vomiting and can be used if significant symptoms occur. Many patients also find relief from mild nausea by sipping ginger tea or taking ginger capsules.

How do I take oral tirzepatide?

You can take this medication at any time of day, but mornings are often the most convenient—pick a time you’ll remember. For best results, take it on an empty stomach. If that’s not possible, wait at least 30 minutes after eating.

  • Roll the bottle between your hands or shake lightly before each use.
  • Measure the prescribed amount in the oral syringe.
  • Place the liquid under your tongue. The solution has a peppermint flavor to make it more pleasant.
  • While keeping your mouth closed and relaxed, hold it there for at least 1–2 minutes (longer is better for absorption). Then swish it around your mouth before swallowing.
  • Avoid eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth for about 30 minutes afterward. This gives the medication time to absorb fully.
How do I know if oral tirzepatide is right for me?

Oral tirzepatide is a good option for those who dislike injections. It offers a comfortable, needle-free way to take tirzepatide.
