  • Description Vasodilator peptide 1095.6 Da is a low molecular mass peptide identified in the crude venom of Bothrops jararacussu. It belongs to the family of bradykinin-potentiating peptides (BPPs), characterized by a pyroglutamic acid residue at the N-terminus and a C-terminal Ile-Pro-Pro (IPP) motif. The peptide has a measured mass of 1095.66 Da ([M+H]+) and its determined amino acid sequence is ZGRPPGPPIPP, where Z represents pyroglutamic acid. This proline-rich peptide was detected via matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOFMS) analysis of the unfractionated venom. Its identification was confirmed by tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) de novo sequencing. The peptide is one of several novel BPPs reported in the study, highlighting the diversity of such components in snake venoms.
  • Storage Guidelines Normally, this peptide will be delivered in lyophilized form and should be stored in a freezer at or below -20 °C.

About TFA salt

Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a common counterion from the purification process using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The presence of TFA can affect the peptide's net weight, appearance, and solubility.

Impact on Net Weight: The TFA salt contributes to the total mass of the product. In most cases, the peptide content constitutes >80% of the total weight, with TFA accounting for the remainder.

Solubility: TFA salts generally enhance the solubility of peptides in aqueous solutions.

In Biological Assays: For most standard in vitro assays, the residual TFA levels do not cause interference. However, for highly sensitive cellular or biochemical studies, please be aware of its presence.
