Holes are precut and covered with matching covers that stay in place yet are simple to pop out. I've had mine installed for a full year and I had no problems cutting out the countertop to install. The drop in makes this a simple install. The sink in a quite large and I'm 100% happy with my purchase.

Overall a fantastic deal on a very sturdy sink. Much thicker than big box equivalents. Accessories are well made. Only complaint it requires more effort than mostbstainless to keep looking clean and shiny which is my 4 star for quality.
